Amid Archibald is a master personal trainer located in Austin, Texas. Over the past 12 years, he has worked with over 500 clients, ages eight to 80, focusing on weight loss, muscle gain, and general health and wellness. Amid's high-energy style and his sense of humor make his workouts distinctively fun and engaging. Lifestyle Training Philosophy
Amid specializes in strength and conditioning programs that are customized to each person’s life situation. He designs individual fitness approaches so his clients gain the knowledge to exercise on their own if they are traveling or not able to train with him personally. He believes fitness and exercise should be an enjoyable part of each person's daily life, as opposed to a quick fix program. Amid’s training style promotes an enhancement of the mind-body connection, along with an understanding of how different exercises affect each person’s body type. His knowledge of nutrition allows him to provide expert guidance to the types of foods and eating patterns that allow each client to get the most efficient results.
Amid’s Story
Amid moved to the U.S. from Colon, Panama at the age of seven. After the move, he became involved in a life-long dedication to martial arts, which led him to compete in the Olympic trials. However, after graduating from college, Amid struggled with weight gain and depression. At age 24, his weight was up to 225 pounds, and his doctor told him that he would likely have heart disease if he continued his current lifestyle. Amid experimented with weight loss drugs, but after seeing some success he decided that he wanted a healthier path. He began eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly, and lost 40 pounds. He has kept the weight off by creating a balanced lifestyle, and continues to enjoy excellent health. Amid is motivated to help people like himself. He has the empathy to support clients through a transformation to better health, along with a belief that if the changes don’t fit his client’s lifestyle, they will not result in long-term positive change.
Training Formats
Amid trains clients individually, as a one-on-one personal trainer, and he trains in groups. He engages with select businesses to offer regular group training for employees as a company perk. Amid offers special training sessions for events such as corporate retreats and pre-wedding bridal parties as well as pop-up classes.
